Ny livery for Oracle Red Bull Racing's 2026 Getty Images
Red Bull Racing har offisielt sparket i gang sin nye æra i Formel 1. Under et lanseringsevent i Detroit torsdag kveld denne uken presenterte laget sitt nye 2026-design – tydelig preget av det ferske samarbeidet med Ford.
Liveryen markerer starten på et historisk kapittel for Red Bull, som i 2026 stiller til start med egenutviklet motor gjennom Red Bull Powertrains, støttet av Ford. Partnerskapet ble først annonsert i 2023, etter at Honda den gang varslet sin exit fra Formel 1 – en beslutning som senere ble delvis reversert, før Honda til slutt inngikk en ny fabrikkavtale med Aston Martin fra 2026.
Showcar – ikke den ekte bilen
Designet ble vist på en 2026-showcar, og Red Bull publiserte også offisielle renderinger som skiller seg tydelig fra standardbilen FIA og Formel 1 tidligere har vist frem. Det er imidlertid liten grunn til å tro at dette er en nøyaktig pekepinn på hvordan Red Bulls faktiske 2026-bil vil se ut.
Showcaren er levert av Memento, en leverandør som kan lage skreddersydde varianter for teamene. Dermed er forskjellene i stor grad kosmetiske – og bilen som ruller ut under sesongens første offisielle test i Barcelona senere denne måneden vil etter all sannsynlighet se ganske annerledes ut.
Verstappen med nytt startnummer
En annen detalj som vakte oppmerksomhet, var startnummeret på bilen. For første gang stiller Max Verstappen opp med #3 på bilen, etter at regjerende verdensmester Lando Norris har tatt i bruk #1.
Verstappen har tidligere vært assosiert med #33, men valgte nå #3 – et nummer som sist ble brukt av Daniel Ricciardo i 2024. Ricciardo var også til stede under lanseringen i Detroit, nå i sin nye rolle som Ford-ambassadør.
Med nytt motorprosjekt, ny partner og et tydelig signal om fremtiden, var Detroit-lanseringen mer enn bare en livery-visning – det var starten på Red Bulls mest ambisiøse prosjekt siden inntoget i Formel 1.
